Channel Regional Arts Group
CRAG is an incorporated branch of the Tasmanian Regional Arts (TRA) representing the wide variety of artists and crafts-people in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel (Kingborough), southern Tasmania. CRAG acts as a body that represents the Arts in the Kingborough region on various boards, committees and organisation.


  • To bring awareness of the diversity and depth of talent in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel region through exhibitions, concerts, and theatre performances;
  • To help the Channel art community to develop a distinctive artistic and cultural identity, which complements the uniqueness of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel environment, attracting visitors to benefit the whole community including local businesses, artists and residents;
  • To give the community the opportunity to connect with, and be a part of, the cultural and artistic identity of the Channel;
  • To encourage the community to participate in cultural and artistic activities through workshops, classes, talks and demonstrations;
  • To provide opportunities for members to connect with the community, including artists and professionals in other disciplines, sharing information and establishing networks;
  • To encourage members to engage in professional development activities;
  • To create opportunities for local businesses and artists to meet and interact to the benefit of both.
CRAG is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers. We welcome enthusiastic volunteers who wish to join and participate in the artistic activities organised by CRAG and/or the TRA in the Channel area. This includes regional and travelling art exhibitions, workshops, music and theatre performances , and a biennial Art Trail.

  • Bruny Botanicals Beasts & Marine Art Exhibition featuring artists from Art at the Point Gallery, including several members of CRAG. 17 - 15 April, 10am - 4pm, 18 Main Rd., Dennes Point, North Bruny.
    Official opening 11am Easter Monday, 17 April.

  • Shoe Making Workshop with Luna Newby. Workshops are for beginners to make a pair of shoes to fit. No experience is required and I provide all materials. Several formats are offered to allow for individual need and tailored to your requirements. The longer workshops allow more time for those coming from far away. All formats are suitable for beginners and those with previous experience. Next weekend Workshop 24-26 March, 2017. 5 day workshops on request by adding 3 days prior to any weekend workshop.
